JUST BEING JULES

The lovely Jules was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2021 after a series of symptoms that she nor the Doctors suspected could have been lung cancer. Those symptoms were back ache, shoulder pain and then she developed a lump in her neck. After insisting on further tests and being referred to ENT, biopsies were taken and the diagnosis came and it was unfortunately confirmed it had spread to her spine and pelvis, however Jules’s consultant reassured her that treatment was possible. Since her diagnosis she has been having targeted therapy which has been a great success in putting Jules’s cancer to sleep. Jules takes one little pill each day – her ‘magic medicine’ and every scan since has shown her cancer to be stable which is just incredible. Jules says she believes that lung cancer is very much associated to men, possibly those who were a heavy smoker or worked in the asbestos industry. However she wants to break that stigma and she will do everything in her power to do so.

We are raising money for the EGFR+ charity as it’s an extremely important charity to Jules with a very special place in her heart. It is a safe place with many wonderful members all supporting each other to thrive in life.
